Sophie's First Day At Preschool

Preschool started for Sophie today.  I am REALLY excited that she is going too!  It is 3 days per weed from 9 until 12.  Not a long time, but I believe that they will pack a lot of information and playing into those 3 hours!  These pictures were taken with Sophie before we left the house this morning.

That backpack is almost as big as she is.  I may have to correct that!  She looked so cute! The outfit she is wearing, we got for FREE at Kohls with a $10 off of $10 coupon.  Awesome eh?

Sophie and Ethan have been playing together since last year and it was Dawn (Ethan's mom) who convinced me to check out this preschool with her last year.  Aren't they cute????
Sophie walking into the Church heading to her classroom. As we got closer to her classroom, we heard a little boy crying and Ben and I looked at each other.  We both were thinking the same thing:  I hope this kid getting upset doesn't upset Sophie! NOPE!  She wasn't fazed at all! She was a champ!  I knew she would be, Ben was the skeptical one!
Ben was worried that because he was dropping her off too, that she would be upset to see him go. She is, afterall, a Daddy's Girl.  Boy was he WRONG!!!  She walked right into that classroom and went to the chair that we showed her was hers at Open House last Thursday night.  She looked at us and smiled when we waved goodbye.  AWESOME!!!

Of course, when we went to get her at 12, she didn't even see me....all she saw was her Daddy and grinned from ear to ear that he was there to get her.  All was right with the world for her.  It is really amazing the love that little girl has for her daddy and the love her Daddy has for her.  I am very lucky that they have that bond and that Ben is her HERO.
This little girl had a great day today too! I mean, a great mood all day long, no whining, nothing!  It was awesome!  Now, to get her to bed for her nap!  I may even have one because last night, I didn't get much sleep!

Until Next Time,

Diary of 5 - Week 7

Thursday February 16, 2012

I am seeing...a laptop needing a lot of love and my friend, Dawn linking cartridges to her new Gypsy.

I am hearing...our toddlers playing away in the livingroom downstairs with very few squabbles.  They play so well together for the most part.

I am smelling...the Sharpie marker in my hand as I write the label on the Recovery Disk for Dawn's laptop.  You can really get high off those markers!  Sheesh!

I tasted...McDonalds McChicken (early lunch).

I am feeling....discouraged.  I helped Nathan with his little project for "Stomp at the Savoy". His second grade class has to do a small presentation about someone from the Harlem Renaissance.  We chose Louis Armstrong because we could find the most information on him on the internet.  Do you know that he didn't even thank me for helping him put together his posterboard?
Here is a pic from his project:

I think that boy of mine needs a "come to Jesus" meeting about appreciation and saying thank you.  Although, I think I had the same talk with him about a week ago.....Sometimes, parenting is a really thankless job!
My mum would tell me "Paybacks a Bitch, Cyn!".....with a huge smile pastered all over her face!!!

Traumatized? Nah.....Just overwhelmed!!!

So, I thought that Nathan was really traumatized on Friday after being on a bus where the kids were loud and the bus driver was yelling.....
I guess I was WRONG!!!
He and I talked about the bus ride on Saturday and he said he didn't like it and yesterday, he told me he wanted to ride the bus in the morning.
So, this morning, I woke him up a little earlier than normal and got his lunch ready.
At 7:40am, he was getting on the bus and had a huge grin on his face! He looked at me as I stood there (trying not to cry that my baby is riding the big-boy bus) and I gave him a big grin back and a thumbs-up. He was all smiles. I let the tears FLOW after the bus was gone down the street!
I sent his teacher an email to make sure he got off at the right school (they drop off at the Elementary school and then the Primary school) and he arrived safe and happy!

So, he will ride the bus home again this afternoon and hopefully have a better experience than on Friday afternoon!
Cross your fingers!!!

P.S. the picture above was taken earlier this month for picture day - not this morning. I just had to show you all that he finally wore a pair of Jeans AND a Collared Shirt! Proof that he is getting to be a big boy!
